January Recap

Thanks for everyone who helped pack Charmington’s last Tuesday! We’d just like to say that the President of the United States of America visited Charmington’s two days later, and if you compare the pictures, our event was clearly better attended. These are just facts, y’all.

We want to especially thank our wonderful readers of the night: Niall Sweeney, Tracy Dimond, Dewey Fox, and Lucia Treasure. Another big thank you to Amanda and Charmington’s for hosting us. And of course, we cannot thank you all enough for your support, interest, and general photogenic-ness.

December Reading Recap

We had a great reading Tuesday night; thank you to everyone who joined us at Artifact Coffee. Our readers were spot-on, and we especially loved Mychael’s musical contribution. Amanda, Mandy, Mychael, and D. blew us away with their talent, and we were completely humbled by their readings and willingness to join us for the evening.Thank you all!

Don’t forget to check us out at LitScape tomorrow! We’ll have our zines and books on sale, a free gift for those who stop by, and we’ll be prepared with jokes. (We’re always prepared for jokes.)

We’ll be moving venues for our January and February readings–Charmington’s–so look out for details soon. Until then, take a look at the photos (by Michael B. Tager) and have a wonderful Christmas and New Year celebration.

November Reading Recap

Thank you to everyone who came out to Tuesday night’s reading at Artifact Coffee! The room was packed, the readers were wonderful, and of course there was the coffee and libations. We’re so grateful for all the love, encouragement, and support Baltimore is giving to Writers & Words, and we can’t wait for a wonderful December reading back at Artifact on Tuesday, Dec. 9.

Most of all, thank you to our four amazing readers–Sue Loweree, Ian Anderson, Drew Robison, and Sarah Pinsker–and Hannah and Artifact for hosting us! If you missed out on the beautiful zine with the work of each of these talented people, you can still get your copy from Mike or Michelle or stock up at the December reading (let us know if you want us to reserve a copy).

We hoped you enjoyed the reading, and if you weren’t able to join us, check out the photos from the evening below (photo cred goes to Michael B. Tager):

Be sure to check back for bios and details for our upcoming December 9th reading featuring Mychael Zulauf | Amanda Ponder | Judith Krummeck | D. Watkins

October Reading Recap

Mike and I would like to say a big thank you to all who came to our first Writers & Words reading (then known as Whiskey & Words) at Blue Pit BBQ and Whiskey Bar on October 8. We had a wonderful turnout and atmosphere for the inaugural reading and our readers were fantastic. (Yes, we’re including ourselves in that because there’s no way to get around it.)

Special thanks to Ian Anderson for holding a phone light over my head, first-time reader Ann Marie Brokemeier, and of course, the ever-talented Steven Levya! Next time we’ll remember to take more photos, but enjoy the ones below (courtesy of Ann Marie).
